Have a look at the Next Step website there are some really useful tips for preparing for interviews, the sorts of things to ask, simple things that a lot of people forget such as what NOT to say or wear etc. Well worth a nosy at to see what it recommends.

Just stay cool, keep your answers short but to the point and don't waffle.

I applied via Tranmere Rovers then Birkenhead Job Centre but no response, so presume I am not getting an interview.

Good luck with your interview.

Any retail store would want staff to be confident with people, quite bubbly, maybe optimistic in their approach. Come across that way in your interview and you will do well.

Was a 2 day course done through parent advisor at job centre, their are 700 being interviewed for just under 300 jobs, their are 7 interviewing question that may be asked depending on what answers you provide them with you may only be asked 4 question, each question is point scored between the score of 0-2

what kind of questions where asked?

how come not everyone heard about this?
or is it a thing to get people back into work?

i have heard quite a few people who are long term unemployed have already had interviews and got jobs, ahead of other people before the interviews had even started?

Look on their website, see if they have a company 'ethos', adapt any answers to this.

Be confident, look excited.

ASK QUESTIONS!

I interviewed candidates a few months ago for a role at our place, and when I say to them "is there anything you want to ask me, or any questions you have?" for the love of God do NOT say no.

Ask questions about the role, about the company, even questions such as what team building activities do they do? What are your peers like? Ask them how they see you fitting in with their current staff?

You may see the above as embarrassing questions, but force yourself to do it.

We took on one guy who on face value didn't seem anywhere near the best, but one of his questions was "do you have any reservations about me, or anything that is stopping you offering me the job right now?"

When I suggested a few things, he addressed them in the best way I have ever seen.

Remember, and this is my advice, an interview is a 2 way thing, you're trying to find out if Morrisons is a place you'd like to work at as much as they're trying to work out if they'd like to employ me.

Stand out, even if the questions sounds stupid, they'll remember you for it.

Any help from those who have already had interviews or been on the interview course would be greatly appreciated. Would be good to get some idea of the questions they might ask.

'Nobody' great advice, there is nothing worse than an interviewee not having any questions. It's always good to have some questions no matter how silly they may sound, having something to ask, and something which will help you to stand out from others, will really make a difference.
