If anyone is interested it is at 6pm tonight. A full council meeting will debate the authority’s proposed budget.
Some of the things on the agenda are Europa pools, Williamson Art Gallery and golf courses.
Another thing that will not go down well is the proposed 4.99% rise in council tax.

I know it is only a propsed increase but it is almost double the increase in pensions which is 2.5%. It will be interesting to hear how that gets on but councils have seen massive reductions in government support in recent years and to put it simply the money has to come from somewhere. Councils do not have a lot of options, either reduce services or increase taxes.

But they will no doubt reduce services and raise taxes.

They need to employ some one who can do maths, then we wouldn't be in the same situation every year, we don't all have endless pockets we can dip our hands in each we want extra money, i would suggest they get their house in order first and get rid of the dead wood, stop wasting millions on over priced invoices from companies down in London and the likes, on consultation's that go no where! and stop wasting money resurfacing perfectly good roads with loose grit and ignoring bad roads altogether.
Six million on LED street lights, and less face it they are worse than what they have replaced, untold millions on the dock area at the moment, messing about with the pavements no one can walk on, silly narrow roads, oh the list goes on!!!!!!!!!!
Remember to vote them out in May!
