Now we are out of the EU, is it perhaps time to change the name of Europa Boulevard and the Europa pool to something more in line with our isolationist stance?

I can think of a new name as easily as you can, but perhaps going back to what it was before it got changed. I assume this was during the time when the word 'Eurowirral ' got bandied about all over the place.

Can anyone recall what the road was called before it got Eurotized?

I don't know why they were named Europa, but the name could stay because it is one of Jupiter's moons.

Looking at the side by side maps of old and new, Europa Boulevard runs through houses and Rowland St.

Its always struck me as a street to nowhere, from nowhere. It's hardly Birkenheads answer to Paris' Boulevard Haussmann is it!

How about Brexit Street?

No, just name more streets all such as Charon, Enceladus, Oberon, Deimos, etc.

When they built Conway Park Station there was a plan to move the town shopping centre and market beside it (part of the reason for building the station there!) which never came to fruition, every few years they resurrect the idea of moving in that direction but since they built houses on part of the land its not big enough any longer for a shopping centre and a car park.

The option left is to flatten the cinema and Europa pools which also crops up every few years.

Didn't they have a bit of a problem with ground movement at the station at one point? If so that will make them worry about doing anything too close to the station but the station needs to retain a car park anyway.

No idea how well the Conway Park College building is holding up, it wasn't well built.

We also have the large probation centre at the bottom of Europa Boulevard and Jacobs Bailiffs the opposite side of the College though I think most of their building is empty, then the large solicitors at the top (Camps Solicitors?) but I think that block is mostly disused now as well, DDI Business School were there at one time but I think they moved out?

That would cause too much confusion.

How do you pronounce Enceladus anyway. I've heard at least four variants of it with hard and soft 'c's and accents on different syllables.

The way I think it is pronounced is, en-cha-laa-duss. May be wrong though.
I have also heard Charon being pronounced as, sharon.

I always call it en - SEL - adus.. It often pops up in conversation.

Indeed in New Ferry, we speak of little else!
