I've read several mentions to the former 'Creep' nightclub on the Urban Exploration forum. Looks like a planning application has gone in to reopen these tunnels underneath Wilkies Arcade for some kind of visitor attraction. Paperwork on the application says it will employ actors so maybe some sort of Farmageddon type thing?

I reckon this could be a great addition for NB if/when it opens up, now the resort is busier it might do well.

Anyone know any more?
oshocked
shiverpool i reckon.
Hope so....sounds great !!
I think New Brighton should have an exciting future in store for itself, as long as people just keep pushing for a bit more expansion, don't get me wrong I think what is there now is great, but i just can't help but feel like there is something missing, something to finish it all off as a modern version of the resort it once was, something i can't put my finger on, but i do feel there needs to be something there that will keep tourist attention, something unique, and this this could be a good step, maybe even a stride, in the right direction!
Evilcycle for mayor!

anything for New Brighton would be a plus, other than bars and shops. sadly I dont think it could ever be the attraction it once was when I was young. (many years ago)
indoor velodrome, swimming pool in the middle.
sounds very promising, new brighton is on the way back at long last
What New Brighton really needs....... is a pier, people love to stroll along a pier, it makes a seaside.
a new pier would be fantastic, we do like our piers, certainly brings the crowds in fingers crossed eh

New Brighton won't ever be the holiday destination it once was, but things change and the same's true for many seaside resorts. It's doing very well from the day tripper market lately with everything that's been going on and just needs that 'critical mass' of things there to attract people. In theory more people should create demand for more attractions.
i agree stu, we have moved on and found sunnier climates to explore, abroad, but i think us british enjoy the seaside a stroll on the prom, an ice-cream, maybe a bag of chips, then a go on the slot machines, when it starts raining, bring back the royal iris on a sun great times on a sun afternoon, used to leave from the pier, ah memories are great

A pier would be brilliant, but can't see it happening......it's always about the money. Deffo need something though to carry on bringing the crowds in, maybe a more updated fair and arcade would help.
Say didn't the Mersey Ferrys used to dock at NB years ago?? wouldn't hurt would it .. just of a weekend maybe.
I did here a discussion by Neil Scales that long term ideas where consideration of piers at the garden festival and new brighton plus pulling out of the tram museum due to a clash of interests and it being non viable. Diversification meant going into the tourist market rather than a commuter service.
Buy into the beatles tat market at the pier head with two beatles exhibitions and the submarine.

I cann't see a pier at New Brighton in the next few years.
