Looks like a bit of a cock up in the Wirral Globe this week.
On page 37 an article on Dining Out. Beside it is a photo of the Hooton Arms in Eastham and alongside that is the description of a meal that would be unobtainable in the Hooton Arms as they don't serve much food and certainly haven't got a conservatory as described in the article. The clue lies below in an advert for The Hooton, in Hooton Road, Hooton, it looks as if the diners went to the Hooton for a meal, reviewed it and stuck a picture of the Hooton Arms in Eastham next to it - a bit of a mistake there I think. I feel sorry for anyone going to the Hooton Arms expecting a meal as described in the article - they would be very disappointed. They would get a nice pint as the Hooton Arms is more a watering hole than a restaurant. I wonder if there were any red faces at the Globe, and were any bollockings handed out for putting in the wrong picture.
Hi Good Old Phil
That was noticed by one of my friends who lives in Bromborough and we both
agreed that is only too typical I am afraid. In the Labour party leaflet for up-coming
local elections there are several spelling mistakes of local roads and streets.
The present Councillors do not even know the spelling of streets in their own
Ward !
The free newspapers in Wirral are littered with such mistakes every week. The
Wirral News is on it,s last legs anyway & they no longer deliver to many parts of
the borough. Even the Police publish info about crimes &appeal for witnesses etc
and they frequently get road/street names wrong. They describe something as happening in Rock Ferry or New Ferry or Port Sunlight etc when you know the
they have got the district wrong!
Not the only cock-up this week, they had a picture of Harriet Harman titled "Deputy Prime Minister" unless she was standing in for Nick Clegg?
