"Engineering work between Birkenhead North and New Brighton from Saturday 23 July to Sunday 7 August 2011"

Anyone know what's going on? I back on to the embankment between Wall Vill Stn and Grove Rd and I've seen no activity whatsoever. Nothing seems to be happening at B'head Nth or New Brighton either

They are not working on the railway lines, the highways agency have asked for the closure of the line to work on the M53 flyover. This work cant be done with trains running underneath them.

Yeah, they're doing work on the bridge (can see them from our house). They had to stop the trains running because they couldn't put the scaffolding up otherwise.

sorry, i thought it could be of some help if they couldn't get to one of the stations, at least they could contact someone online.
