Hope smirk I have posted in the right place.

I am asking for a friend who has only library internet access. Does anyone know of any agencies that help when someone is in dire need of household items and in receipt of benefits? She has a baby and is in need of a washing machine and a fridge freezer. To cut a long story short she lives in Wallasey and is currently waiting for her money to be sorted out.

Thanks very much for any help or suggestions, which I will pass on to her.

you have to pay for stuff in wire, dont think you pay for stuff from svp or thompson as i think they do it to help those in need, but i may be wrong on that.

Yes, I thought you had to go through an agency to get whatever you needed for free. Although Wire do do recycled items also for sale to the public as well as supplying through an agency. I just didn't know what agencies for my friend to check out.

It's amazing what you find out on here!!

At one time you had to get a letter/ticket/voucher from the social to get stuff free from the agencies - don't know if this still happens.

Great stuff. I have a gas cooker in good working order to get rid of in the near future. I will give one of them a call.
