Hello
Does anyone on this site remember the Argyle Theatre on Birkenhead it opened in 1868 and was sadly destroyed during the Blitz of 1940. I am from Heswall Musical Society and our next production in July is The Argyle Remembered which tells the story in song and dance of Birkenhead's famous theatre. The show was written for us and I am producing it. I am looking for people's memories ( could be from your family members going), to maybe some photos.
Hope to hear from you. You can also email [email protected]

I think the Archives have posters of acts that had been on there.
Not sure, but in the back of my mind from somewhere, - it was the first theatre to transmit a show across the Atlantic to America
