Hi everyone! I'm in need of a plumber to stop a leak from my bathroom that's coming through my kitchen ceiling and has brought down the plaster.

My stopcock is in the attic(?!) and it's seized up completely, so I'll need the water supply turned off at the street. The pipes up there are copper going into lead.

Can anyone help me please?

My stopcock jammed too. I was quoted £200 to £350 over the phone with 'it could be more when we see the job' thrown in for good measure. Rob replaced mine for less than £100.

Turns out the leak was caused by a lead water pipe,
(Victorian house), under my bath that had been bent over to stop water coming through. The pipe was leaking where it was creased and weakened, and had done so for a long time behind my kitchen wall units without me knowing.

Well, not any more! Ian cut out a small section in a couple of floorboards, found the pesky pipes, cut them short, shaved the ends down and capped those suckers!

He worked for about 3 hours and charged me £80! I now feel like "Dave" off the Moneysupermarket advert! I feel EPIC!

A great job done, for a great price, by a great fella! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone!
