Taken probably by my mother when she had the boys for a visit. It's over 40 years ago. I've got a feeling it might be West Kirby; I've vague memories of a large paddling pool.

My money is on West Kirby too Chris. The design of those houses behind looks very familiar.

Actually it could be Hoylake! They used to have an old pool before the new one was created by he lighthouse and the houses in the background look familiar! Either Hoylake or West Kirby!

I would say the houses shown are on the corner of South parade and Riverdale road westkirby,if you look at the chimney pots they are on the ridge in the photo and in Westkirby but lower down on the houses in Hoylake. The building between the childrens heads looks like the block of flats on the left of the flats on the corner of Riverdale.

click google maps
South Parade Westkirby

I am not sure which but one of the two. Did see last week at Marine Lake in West Kirby a notice warning not to bathe or paddle in the Lake due to a type of spiky poisinous fish in it!
