Does any one know if traffic lights are going to be installed at the new road layout at bottom of grove road

A quote from Wirral Globe: "There is a new proverb doing the rounds: "It is easier to pass through the eye of a needle than to get your car out of Grove Road, across Harrison Drive, and onto Groveland Road; equally, it is easier to balance a drunk elephant atop a set of stilts than it is to make a right-hand turn from Harrison Drive into Grove Road." We hate to say this, but that junction actually needs traffic lights"

Someone was actually knocked over yesterday evening at this junction, it's a stupid layout, no one stops for pedestrians and know one seems to know who has the right of way, it's madness.

The lights are to be installed when the electrics are finished which is almost done, one control unit has been installed.

it's ridiculous, i go that way every morning on my way to the motorway to work and it's chaos.

lights aren't going to make it any better either, they way it was i think was better, if it ain't broke and all that.

i understand what you mean via the new road graphics but it just takes a little common sence.

however the zebra crossing is too close to the turn and always had been.

The lights are now in operation

I notice the crossing has changed so its not zig zags anymore but double yellows. So no longer will the inconsiderate tosspots who park there get £100 fine and 3 points but its just the 'chance' of a parking ticket.

Ah so now fatty delivery boy has less distance to wobble when collecting deliveries.

I drive that route four times a day and never had a problem. This morning there was a tail back for the first time. Now instead of going down Grove road to the junction and turning left, I will go along to Sandy lane and come out that way. Bet the residents won't be too happy with that.

This council won't be happy until Wallasey/Wirral comes to a complete standstill.

Already queues in the middle of the day.
Have noticed that when the lights allow vehicles coming down Grove Road to go left or right the filter from Harrison Drive to go left up Grove Road is still red.
Absolutely no need to have this traffic stopped.
Wirral Highways, cocking things up since the horse and cart.

i'm gonna necrobump this thread because this issue is really starting to annoy me.

i've just come back from dropping my mate off in Leasowe and going to tesco in bidston for a few bits and i was coming back along harrison drive to turn left onto grove road whem myself and about 6-7 other vehicles had to stop because one person wanted to come out of grove rd station and turn left along harrison drive.

i have even done a map!

key:
me = Red
car coming out of the station = blue
other traffic = green
[Linked Image]
i don't see why the traffic marked green and i have to stop to let one car out of wallasey grove road train station... it doesn't affect me at all but yet i have to stop to let them go left when in the good old days he would have seen there's traffic coming, seen i was indicating left, waited for the traffic to go and then gone himself. but no, we all have to stop for 2 minutes to let him go and then just sit there like dullards waiting for the lights to turn green again. it's f**king POINTLESS!!!!!!!!!!!

also, you can hold off your compliments on my artistic talent, it's unbelievable... i know tease

I tend to avoid the lights if i can now.

i was there the other day heading towards wallasey village from harrison drive, the lights were on green yet the car in front stopped and kept edging forward obviously confused.

Waste of money, absolutely no need for the lights and a total time wasting experience, avoid at all costs.

i do on my way home from work instead opting to go along the front and up sandcliffe road onto grove road and left up along home. alternatively i could go all the way along and up portland street and then right along to warren drive and home but i've not been that way yet as i imagine new brighon way will be a little busier. anything to avoid them stupid stupid lights though. i only went that way because it was like 9:30pm and thought they'd be fine at that time as hardly anyone was about and i'd get through no problems, but no. wasn't to be.
