have my car up for sale but need to get rid as soon as possible.Was thinking about the auctions and wondered if anyone has had any dealings with them. any advice greatfully accepted as i have never been to a car auction and trying to weigh up the pros and cons.

My advice would be to sell it privately , while an auction may be quicker you will not achieve the same price, you will also be paying commission . Good luck

pros - quick sale

cons - lower price, have to pay commission

Also your car will get damaged and it`s not their responsibility, it`s yours.

thanks for the advice...i have heard of cars being damaged at these places.
dont think i will take the chance, hopefully the car will sell soon as we already have the new one and cant really afford to have money tied up in this one hence the need for a quick sale.

Why not advertise it on here? The more people that know of your sale, the quicker you'll find a buyer for it! smile

it is advertised on here, had a few people asking questions but no one actually come to view it.

plus auctions can take up to a fortnight and over to pay out by "cheque"
