I am saving up for a kitchen so it will be a while but I have no idea where to start. The walls will need plastering. Floor tiles taken up and floor levelling plus some skirting board will be needed. My question is do I get the work done and then get the kitchen measured by someone and fitted or do builders do the whole lot and do they measure up the kitchen. I cant do it. When I have saved enough, I could do with everything doing at the same time as one of the household is disabled. Any ides where to start will be appreciated Thanks

All together, get some quotes in from builders first, you can compare both prices and how they will do the work.
Most decent builders can fit a kitchen or at least recommend someone.
That way you will have a good idea of how it will look, if your geting a kitchen form B&Q / Homebase etc
they will measure up for you in advance so get them in an tell them what you want they can work it out for you.

'Which' Magazine recommend Magnet Kitchens and Magnet have a half price sale on at the moment with pay nothing until 2014.
