Hi! each and all, does anyone have any news on why the Nelson pub in Trafalger Road Egremont, has been boarded up for the last three days?, dont tell me another watering hole has dried up, were is it all gonn'a end!

Landlords done a runner to scotland i heard on here, a couple of people have shown interest in the place,cant wait it's a top boozer.

If they had done a runner they wouldn't be moving their belongings out a week or so later. Have also just been told it will be open again in 2 weeks. :))

Seems strange to fully board it all up if its going to open up again in 2 week's dont you think?

Boarding up is normal. Stops looters/kids setting fire to it.

I went past it tonight and it had re-opened, with about 8 to 10 people drinking inside.

During its 'closed' period it had a caretaker living there, which is why the shutters came off again. Unusual, but it seems to have worked.

And while I was there, I checked out the 'little' Wellington around the corner, as I'd heard a rumor that it was closed.
I'm pleased to say that it was open as well, with customers inside.
