At 12:30 today saw a low flying Chinook over prenton, I heard the heavy thumping rotor blades and knew it wasnt the police chopper for a change. Flying low over Prenton towards Liverpool, It was nice to see one as you dont get to see them very often. Anyone else see it or know why it might be in the area (air show, etc)?

Or have the police got serious? laugh

It circled Murray fields hospital I think so may be just a training flight ,unless they dropped a diver off there

I guess there must be areas where people see them a lot and the novelty may wear off. I would bet the people that live near the aircraft place in Cheshire are used to seeing the Beluga (only saw it once over Cheshire Oaks), but I cant remember seeing a chinook over the Wirral, so it was certainly a novelty to me lol. Novelty or not they certainly are a very impressive sight (and sound).

I was driving past the big asda just off the m53 and could see it landing behind loads of trees, which am guessing is the helicopter pad for murrfileds/arrow park hospitals!!

Would love a trip in one there massive

I live in Buckinghamshire and we are very used to them flying around here, we get a lot of Hercules flying low too. Mind you I did get the shock of my life the other week when I was driving through the centre of Bedford and a Chinook landed on a piece of waste ground right in the town centre!

I was in Liverpool One & it flew over us. I will never tire of seeing & hearing them, but then rotor porn does it for me every time grin Had I not been so speechless and excited as a kid on christmas eve I'd have got my camera out & took a picture of it.
