Hi can anyone recommend me a technician to repair an alarm.

When we moved into our house the previous owner didnt leave us the alarm code so we deactivated it by taking off the cover and cutting some wires.

I need someone to come and fix the wires and reset or install a new code panel.

Cheap as poss please as we dont have a lot of spare cash.

Cheers

Whats the make and model bud?

I have no idea sorry. There is no info on either the keypad or the main unit.

I think the only thing that was snipped was the buzzer thats attached to the Cover. the rest of the alarm works ok, just dont have a key code.

I think the make is Challenger although im going from memory and its not that good.

well even if you re connect the cables that are cut you are still left with the problem of no code (it'll keep its memory).

I would suggest writing that unit off and installing a new one unles you can find a code or a way of resetting it.

Is that an expensive job? How much does a new code panel cost? If I cant just change the panel, is it easy to install a new panel and control unit into the existing wiring setup?

thats the best bet, as there is no real rule of thumb for installing alarms as they are only 12v different people use different wiring methods so a like for like mother board swop would be the best option.
