I love the blue Zephyr, very nice indeed. I did quite a bit a work on a Zodiac many years ago.

I have a couple of cars but don't do anything for the standard of shows etc, I just like the cars and maintenance without having to faff around with ECUs and the like.

No.But my neighbour did (one in photo) and offered it to me for my wedding but then realised he had double booked so offered his Army Landrover or his Ford Granada plus chauffer.

Thats lovely , can that be a genuine number plate though, - it would cost an arm and a leg wouldnt it ???

Think it was a genuine number plate.(he was wealthy) His other car had a personalised plate RS 1959 which I always had my eye on as its my initials and birth year.

yep the plate is original if you google PJV 838
YOU WILL SEE SOMETHING THAT MAY INTEREST TO YOU DEPENDS ON YOUR AGE

In the 1969 book 'Car Numbers' by Noel Woodall, there are entries for UK2 & RS 1959 -

"UK 2. Reginald Sington, stockbroker, Upton, Wirral. 1926 Rolls Royce 20/21 Open Tourer, better known as the 'Baby Rolls'. See also RS 1959."
There is also a picture and short caption of the vehicle.

"RS 1959. Reginald Sington, stockbroker, Upton, Wirral. Acquired in 1959. Now adorns Rover 3.5 litre V8."

Remember, this was as of 1969 and this part of the book is about the registration rather than the car or its owner. As the adhesive on the book spine is beginning to crack, I'm not going to open it out and scan it for you, although I could take a picture if anybody was really interested.

Thanks Norton Thats the fellow Reg Sington Oakland Drive , Upton. Lived in one of the 4 older houses before they built new ones opposite and either side. He kept the car in my neighbours garage as she was old and didn't have a car.

Zephyr..one of the great names for a car..and a great shape. Reminds me of the cartoon Supercar with its rear fins
