Hi at last we have managed to find our way down into the bidston hill air raid shelter here is a video of our mission. Hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed exploring it.

Wow this is brilliant guys.love the vid and the music that goes with it.How long does it take to explore all of the tunnel?Am tempted to take a trip up there soon.Thanks for sharing well done.

You can get round it pritty quickly we went back 3 times. Spent 30 mins the first time tgen over an hour tge other 2 times

Great vid, must be 40 odd years since I first went down there. We used candles back then and video wasn't invented! Thanks for posting, it brought back good memories.

There is down by green lane in birkenhead apparently there use to be a way in under the bridge by the train station dont know if its accessible nowerdays.

Was there any graffiti back then? I have lost count how many times I have been down there but would have loved to seen the place prior to defacement.

There was graffiti back then, the tunnels were so easy to get into I think every kid in the North End had been down them. We went down on three separate occasions between 1970 and 1974. After that the Council made it a lot harder to get in. We went in through the main entrance twice and in through the brick square at the top of the air shaft once. We spent ages trying to get the door open of the emergency exit corridor.
