This is a photo of an internment camp that held German nationals thoughout the War. This one wa in Huyton, where whole streets were held behind barbed wire and armed soldiers.
Were there any of these internment camps in Wirral? I know of them in the Isle of Man, but not heard of these before

There's one POW camp at least which isn't on the link you posted, Bert. Near Crewe and still largely intact. I used to see prisoners from there working on the farms in the area when I went on holiday in the early 1940's.

That's the one, Bert. On Snape Lane, between Weston and Engelsea Brook. Engelsea Brook is where we used to holiday. Nice village, and hardly changed.
