This photo taken during the War, is allegedly the New Brighton Home Guard marching in New Brighton. I cannot for the life of me recognise the location. I'mm unsure if it is New Brighton. Can anyone help?

Um this looks like liscard to me. Next to that church that leads to the car park off of Seaview Road. Where the council buildings are.

What about the traffic lights though. Does that still fit?

Nop. Traffic lights get moved though. Looking at it there's differences so I've changed my mind but seems close.

The reason I mentioned Mount Road was a memory recall of a photo on the web showing something similar to this one,
Must be showing my age now, memory is on the fritz

I've seen similar before, could be part of the Home Guard parade 1945, I think they ended up at Harrison Drive.

In a 1949 directory, the same shops are numbers 108 to 112 Wallasey Road at the Belvidere Road Junction. Looks like they're heading up Torrington Road.

It's Coningsby Drive i think Shopping_In_Wallasey_Road just search for the shops in the background.

This is Wallasey road crossing Torrington Rd and Belvidere Rd at the traffic lights.
My father had the Stationers and Printers shop at 106 Wallasey Rd just out of the photo.

I agree. If you check out the upper windows above the shops some have
the same decorative brick pattern around them. Also the one on the left
end has a single wide window and to the right they are narrower doubles.

So the shop at the left end is now Valentines Estate agents and to the right
of that is a kebab shop then Jones & Chapman.

Brilliant stuff, well done to all

Doh. Should have realised there were no traffic lights in Wallasey Village. Don't think there are any now apart from crossings and they didn't exist in that form then.
