was only walking those walls at easter when i was home, i hadn't been to chester in about 20 years, i wouln't have had to now either with those great pics as it has not changed at all. max

Not Edwarian, no. The current tower was built on the ruins of a previous tower in the 17th century. This pic dates from 1869 -

Though there's been various renovation works done over the years, the structure remains basically the same.
