I hope this loads up, not sure if this image has been posted already, it was sitting on my laptops hard drive along with some other images of the interior of an old cinema in Liverpool.K
Description: First attempt at uploading an image.....fingers crossed.
Fab pic! more info if poss and more pics please.. great job!!
Think the image came from an exhibition held as part of Capital of Culture 2008, The other images I have somewhere, are of a cinema in Wavertree and a few of the Liverpool waterfront taken from on board a vessel, I can post them up if anyone is interested, just didn't want to overpopulate with Liverpool. Will have a fiddle in the hard drive.

Waterfront pic
Description: Think this is 1936
One of the classic Mersey Tunnel construction pictures. Gives an idea of the overall size of the "tube". The more pictures we have the better kamikazi9. Thanks for posting. We will overlook the Liverpool related stuff. They can't help being on the wrong side of the river after all !!!! ha.ha.
Dives behind the sofa !
Was just able to make out the caption; I believe it says:
"The Mersey Tunnel 22nd Feb. 1931
44' Dia. Tunnel looking towards Liverpool from Birkenhead"
Fantastic pic, thanks KK9!

Glad you could make that out.I have tried a few times and failed, must get that macro setting on my eyes sorted.

Great pic!
Easier to read if you invert the colours
These are the other images I had, yes I know they are of L***rp**l but thought they may be of interest. If the new cinema foyer in New Brighton looks like this then I'm definitely getting a season ticket. Hope I'm not infringing anyone's copyright.

is that a squirrel waving in the foreground of the first pic?!!!

Yes, apparently Squirrels have an uncanny knack of running away from leaks before they occur so they were used in subaqua tunnels like canaries were used in coal mines
Well spotted Delta6 if you check out the waterfront pic bottom dead centre there is the unmistakeable shape of a robin wearing a hoody looking directly into the lens (I think)

Wow, well i never knew that!! Theres my 'learn something new...' for today.
Rude - please note that I did put a wink on the end of the post
I didn't notice the 'wink' either, I thought I had learned something too, you little tinker!
oh! Damn, you just proved plusones theory! "you may have all these quals, but when it comes to common sense, you thick as feck!"
pmsl
but....that is a squirrel....isn't it?
Also, i did wonder why the 'kingsway tunnel tour guides' didn't share that particular nugget...haha
And to think that i relayed this info to plus with "d.d said it, it must be true!"
as croc said "you tinker!!!"
Soz, I was in a mischievous mood at the time, I wasn't going to put the wink on the end but bottled out and thought I'd be kind.
Thanks for taking it in good humour
Thats o...k. Let you off, this time
x

How else is there to take it?
I still stand by my 'you little tinker' statement though
Nothing like a 6'3" 'little tinker'! Haha
Also...bearing in mind that i got a tiny winy small screen....is it a squirrel?
Its just a bag or something, the squirrel bit is the shadow which isn't on an even surface.
I was looking at those pics and thought brill, when you said squirral I looked I'm on a 22" hd screen, thought it's a rag,so I copied it and put it on irfanview and magnified it just to make sure,I thought I'd flipped.
I have just magnified the screen to 1000 and it is a rag or a glove or something similar. The squirrel tail is a shadow. Never mind.
