Next year I plan to start adding a map section to my History site. They will be better in detail and closer-up. In the mean time - examples :

The first two maps are from about 1935

Thanks for the maps Paul. Interesting as always. I'm a bit puzzled (what's new) about the first two. You say circa 1935. Have a blimp at the rail lines. They are marked "B.R.(LMR)". British Railways didn't happen until 1947. Are the maps a reprint of the 1935 (?) ones? Contrary to the above rhubarb, note the legend "Bus & Tram Routes". All a bit confusing - especially to me on a Saturday night after a few glasses of Chateaux Filth du Plonk !!

I think its a reprint with a few "modern" features added as a few things don't all add up! The Palace was rebuilt in 1939 and shows on the map. Before that it was a car park (and before that the original Palace). Egremont Ferry is still showing and that was dismantled in 1946. Tram Lines still show though they that was abandoned in 1933 (but not removed for a few years).

Tha map itself has no date printed on it.
