A 20ft deep drain in Rock Park which dates back to between 1837 and 1850 when the Park was created. The drain is the typical Victorian egg shaped brick built but also has a modern overflow linked in from the New Ferry By-Pass surface water drains.

An interesting find DD. The old ovoid drains are superb. This one looks as if it hasn't had a good flow through it for a while. Keep popping those lids !!

Its actually a root and the straw looking stuff is a mass of little rootlets
