Police cordoned off a large area opposite Arrow Park Hotel when i went past this morning. Wasnt there yesterday evening so suspect something kicked off late evening or after pub kicking out time.

Nothing kicked off (for a change) and it was nothing to do with the pub (for a change). Hope that helps.

It doesn't really help

There are times when people, due to job or personnel connections, know the facts behind a story but are unable to pass them on at that time.

When the rumour mill starts sometimes it's useful to be able exclude the most likely, which Wench, in her "privileged" position has done.

Not a problem. Just that There WAS a police cordon therefore something has happened. When do police usually cordon of an area as a crime scene?. There was also a white vehicle parked inside the cordoned off area.(Fact)

nobody said that "nothing had happened" - just that it was nothing to do with the pub or a kick off.

I'm sure you'll find out when details of whatever happened can be released

Something has happened, I just clarified that it was neither of the things suggested. Your facts about the cordon and white vehicle are correct though.

How amusing the curiousity of some folk can be.

Wait for it to be in the local print and don't be so impatient.

Quite right Ste - if the Police dont offer the facts, its probably because you dont need to know them and it doestn concern you... smile

Quite right you are but more often than not lately what is reported turns out not to be true facts.
