any one know whats going on at moreton station tonite , bout 30 mins ago loads of police ect came down manor road hoylake ,ran into the station I heard them say fatality ,then another police shouted its moreton station then left all trains have been terminated at Birkenhead north

Line problem:
From West Kirby. Owing to a person hit by a train at Moreton Merseyside , West Kirby lines are affected.
Impact:
Train services from West Kirby will be suspended between West Kirby and Birkenhead North. Disruption is expected until 00:30 12/10.Customer Advice:Replacement road transport services are conveying passengers between West Kirby and Birkenhead North in both directions until further notice.

Update:
Fatal accident on Wirral railway line last night.

British Transport Police have launched an investigation after a fatal accident on the Wirral railway line last night.

The incident happened at 11pm near the Prospect Farm crossing between Meols and Moreton.

It is understood a person was struck by a train, although this has yet to be confirmed by the authorities.

Power to the track was cut off and buses replaced trains between West Kirby and Birkenhead North for the rest of the night.

any one know the man who died on the tracks ,and if he was local haven't heard much about it on the news or radio

It was a sad evening, not only for the family but for those dealing with the incident.

Very true. It will have been a traumatic experience for the Driver and Guard. Not forgetting the paramedics and police too. Some Drivers take many months before they can drive a train again.

That seems to me to be a very intrusive question.
