Apparently there has been a shooting on borough road.

Shooting in Hippos Chip Shop, Borough Road about an hour ago

Also reports of a&e being closed off at arrowe park with armed police there.

Strange talk of paddy from gypsy weddings being in some way involved?!

I think I heard it last night. I thought it was kids with fireworks as there was 4 loud bangs, but the times seem to add up.

Things just seem to be getting worse...

Borough Road still blocked off, just been to Arrowe Park, all looks normal, couldnt see any police, or at least no more than usual.

i work in st. caths and can confirm that as of now, borough rd is STILL blocked.

there's major rumour of the victim being paddy o'doherty (police might tweet differently to not alarm anyone or make the assailant brag) as he has relatives in the area (cousin i believe)

all busses are coming via derby road, traffic is hell, avoid the area if at all possible. we've also received no word from the police how long forensics will be there.

sod knows how long it'll take my bus to get here after work (155) so might just walk down to birkenhead and get the train home...

will keep you all posted if i hear anything,

update: it WASN'T paddy o'doherty who was shot, but he was at APH A&E visiting whoever it was that was shot.

probably one of his relatives/friends.

i've heard nothing else.

From what I have heard from someone who works in the hospital it is Paddy Dohertys cousin.

It was not Paddy ,it was his son`s father in law .Fact ,his auntie has just phoned me to let me know .They are actually friends of mine from the Gypsy community

Thanks Lightening ,people are entitled to their own opinion really but let`s not loose track of what has happened all too often lately though .There is a family on edge here waiting to see if he`s going to be alright ,it makes it worse if you know the people involved

Yes without sounding like captain obvious, of course what has happened is tragic but at least the victim is pulling through, lets hope he makes a full recovery and the idiot who shot him is dealt with to the full extent of the law

If you don't mind me asking gypsyjune, was it an actual gun he was shot with or some high power air rifle conversion thingy as if it were a 9mm or the like, the fact someone heard 4 shots as per a post on here, means the victim is so fortunate to be alive.
