Police have cordoned off Oxton Rd at it's junction with Balls Rd. and Ridley St. The cordon extend down to Belmont, possibly to Town View.

I'm not sure what's going on, but I got some video as we were driving past. I'll post that when I get to a computer.

I've just been my garage on oxton road lots of police, they came running round and thought we were some lads who where causing trouble, who ran past us, Heard speculation on facebook about a murder.

i hate that program with a vengance, all it does is cause trouble and gossip

we were on our way to new brighton & the police car in front took off then we saw 2 others heading towards birkenhead from secombe all flashing lights.

fb says two lads were jumpted and murdered xx

I certainly hope it's not true.

ill check on merseyside police twitter and see if anythinks been reported yet. one of the lads is meant to be called mark but dont know how they no that xx

my cousin lives in ridley st and apparently they heard a man was jumped with a baseball bat outside stanley casino on oxton. he tried to run away and made it to the top of ridley before collapsing. they are not sure but the think he is desd :S ?

sorry jase didnt realise. i need to change my colors back as i use red all through the forum. so ridint realise this was local with someone suggest murder on face book earlier up. thankfuflly i was wrong and the fella at top of ridley got put in an ambulance alive but not sure about the other one on oxton road?. is there a way for me to keep a red foru an change the local to a diff colour ?

At around 8pm Sunday night on Borough Road, 4 youths, 2 male and 2 female who appeared to have been drinking alcohol in the grounds of Birkenhead central library, lashed out (unprovoked) at two passers-by outside the Greek restaurant – although this happened earlier in the evening I’d be surprised if it wasn’t connected
