Does anyone know how to disable access to Facebook from the computer. I'm on Windows XP. I've tried adding the website to the list of 'Restricted Sites' but this did not work. I have also typed the site details into the programming part of access using notepad. Facebook now can't be accessed from Explorer but unfortunately, Google accepts the link. I don't want to download any programs and want to be able to undo any access restrictions to Facebook when needed.

Change the host file to point to 127.0.0.1. Not on a computer at moment but search on google for windows host file. Ready and free, don't need to instal anything

I tried this below and used notepad c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts. Don't know if there is anything on the Firewall though to help. Wasn't sure what to look for. This has not worked even though I re-booted and closed down. Do I need to put in the IP address (all of them) for Facbook instead of 127 etc?

127.0.0.1 localhost

# block facebook
127.0.0.1 login.facebook.com
127.0.0.1 www.facebook.com
127.0.0.1 blog.facebook.com
127.0.0.1 apps.facebook.com
