Removing a tree stump quickly = stump grinder OR a great deal of hard work with a chainsaw/ axe etc
Removing a tree stump chemically = allow at least a year, maybe two, but it can be done. In my experience SBK is too slow (since the 'Elf & Safety people made them take out the really active components). Caustic soda will work if you use a flat bit drill on a strong electric drill and drill many holes as deep in the stump as you can. You can pack those holes with solid caustic or concentrated liquid eg

An alternative is to fill the drilled holes with battery acid (36% sulphuric acid) which I obtained by drilling a hole in the cases of couple of old batteries after I had charged them up (charging concentrates the acid).
BE CAREFUL with these chemicals - gloves and goggles - they are highly corrosive
Using either caustic or battery acid you must plug the drilled holes after they have been filled - corks &/ or putty - and wrap the stump top with a plastic sheet tied on with string etc. Does not look pretty but it is needed for safety.
