just spotted an update for windows 10 1903, is it safe to upload, or does it have problems.

Latest Window 10 release is ok now, Microsoft blocked the release with some machines that had a problem, there has been a few updates since then.

I'm leaving it for a few weeks because they now allow you to delay.
Only to see if any issues emerge as more people upload it.

Have you got a link to the file?

Just down loaded from Windows update can't even get into it to do a system restore everything is just flashing.

You need to download windows 10 install onto a usb stick and go through the Windows repair.

Its better to let windows update does its own update than use external files. If it does go wrong it usually rewinds itself.

I suspect you may have got the wrong update file, there are no known issues with the update process.

I had not heard of this update till this thread so I went for it . I downloaded the file windows10upgrade9252.exe and it went perfectly but took in total about 3 hours. For the fist 90 minutes I could work as usual on the PC. Then the update assistant took over and I could do nothing, just a grey screen showing progress so I went about other things. App 90 minutes later my usual log in screen was presented. Job done .I have not really had a chance to see if it is better or not.

Well I've spent ages trying to sort this out getting nowhere looks like a trip to PC world to get them to sort it.

This is the link I used to download the update. https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

First I created a restore point just in case. From there I saved the file I mentioned above (windows10upgrade9252.exe )and then ran it . As I said it took about 3 hours in total .

My machine updated itself overnight. I have yet to see any significant change in its behaviour.

I believe there are a whole load of idiotic facilities which are of no interest or use to me whatsoever, and serve only as more stuff which can go wrong. Do I really want to switch seamlessly from my phone to my desktop? No! Do I want to type emojis from my keyboard NO!! Do I need a 'timeline' to tell me what I have been doing? NO! NO! NO! Begone!

Whatever happened to KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid).

Bah!
