After all the years ive been with virgin mobile I only just found out that the 3400 airtime minutes I signed up for are split between calls to virgin and other calls. Like 3000 minutes to virgin networks and 400minutes elsewhere. Is that standard procedure for pay monthly or do other companies do a package that covers calls to any network.

Bit naughty marketing saying you get 3400 minutes airtime and hiding away its split so heavily in favour of one network.

Freedom Pop are coming up with a price half of what I am paying--anyone heard or use them.

Virgin use the EE/Orange/T-mobile network which has good coverage.

Freedom Pop uses Three.

Giffgaff is cheap (I pay either £5 or £7.50 a month for more than I need, I pay higher amount if I'm expecting more usage that month) but uses the O2 network which hasn't got brilliant coverage.

I don't use it for internet and my sons and daughter are also on
Giffgaff so my calls to them are free

If it works for you thats fine.
But its naughty to imply that your minutes are for all providers.

Its the same as trying to work out roaming coverage and cost, the devil is in the detail.

As above ive been using giff gaff for years. They have recently updated there usage and it also covers tethering now.

You will probably find your bundles will change over time. Just worth reviewing now and then.

What boils my blood is the incentives for new sign ups and a loyal customer ends up with the worst deal, because they think they are being looked after for being loyal. Not so....
