Hi guys my wife has just bought a laptop with Windows 7 Starter installed how easy is it to upgrade to Pro or Home ? Bearing in mind I am not very good with computers !

You should consider upgrading to 10 if you can.
Normally the low end "Starter" version are for lower end computers, ive heard of them but never seen or used one.

Post the spec of the laptop and im sure we can advise better smile

I find windows 10 very slow and am generally disapointed with it !

I liked W10. But this new update has slowed my laptop down a bit. It was a decent specced gaming laptop about 8 years ago but now can't handle the latest W10 frown time to get a new one i think!

Switch off all the background apps to speed Windows 10 up, mine used to be brought to a standstill by it re-indexing my 37,000 photographs every day.

settings - privacy - background apps

I also switch off most of the "live tiles" on the start menu though I don't know how much impact they have.
