Hi, was informed by BT in December that Claughton Exchange - Cabinet 54 (Bidston area) would get FTTC upgrade by March 31 2014. Just found out from the Openreach wholesale check that this has been moved back to 31 December 2014.

We only get 1mb broadband due to our distance from the exchange and have no access to virgin/cable.

Two questions I'd be grateful if anyone can help with:

1. Does anyone know (BT Openreach viewer) why this was delayed and if I should trust the new planned date for FTTC on cabinet 54?

2. Is there any realistic alternatives available to FTTC or cable to provide a decent internet connection in this area?

Thanks smile
1. Apparently it's a vague lazy date they are giving to everyone who they didn't service in time for their other lazy vague date.

2. Nope, unless you fancy moving. BT have you by the balls.

They have appeared to move their focus on to Parkgate and Neston now so I wouldn't expect fibre any time soon. You might be better off moving to be honest. Don't try to find any further details either since they have closed off all avenues to enquire for more details.
