I ran repair start up but that reports no problem.

I dont want to do system recovery as i have files i dont want to lose.

Never seen these before

Failed to connect to windows service

Windows could not connect to the user profile service.
This problem prevents users from logging on to the system.

C:\windows\system 32\config\systemprofile\desktop refers to a locationthat is unavailable. It could be on a harddrive on this computer or a network.
Check to make sure the disk is inserted or you are connected to internet or your network.

Check the boot up order.
It may be looking in the wrong order.

You may be looking to roll it back to the last system restore so boot up in safe mode and follow instructions to restore previous restore point at a guess.

If you still cant do it give me a call.

System restore does not overwrite you documents.
Its more for the system settings.

Because it was running slow it could be a virus or anything.
Can you tell if there is a lot of hard drive activity by looking at the HD light on your laptop if you have one ?

Are the fans blowing hard? this would indicate that the processor is being hammered by some app.

Hope that helps.

It would not let me go into safe mode, it says failure configuring windows updates please wait.

I took hdd out put it in caddy took my files off, and then used recovery partition to restore windows.

My system restore was turned off.
