Where can I get a cable made for my Virgin Router, the one that goes from broadband socket to router.

I need a long one, the one they have give me is to short, is it just normal coaxial cable?

It's worth checking what you've written before posting.

It's 75ohm satellite cable.

It's nothing to do with grammar/spelling, just that if you're looking for help, it's better if people can read what you're saying at the first attempt.

That's the one, the "screw on" bits are called F type connectors.

I had an aerial wife once, she flew off with the window cleaner. ;-)

Wilkos is your best bet- satelite cable and f connectors and some black satellite tape and jobs a good un. Not expensive and decent quality

I have been told that the shorter the cable the better, and have been advised to use a Ethernet Cable instead.

The shorter the cable from the socket to the router box the better, but sometimes it just isn't practical where it is, I moved mine to give a better wireless signal.

If is from the socket on the wall to the router, it's satellite cable with F type connectors, screw them in firmly but not over tight.

From the router to the PC use Ethernet RJ45 cable.

You will get a slight loss the greater the distance, but we are talking milliseconds, and it's still faster than using wireless.
