Can I ask if you have put anti virus on it? May sound daft but if you have and it's one of the popular free ones remove it. There is a known problem causing issues with a few of them.

Had same problem, you also don't need any free anti virus for basic internet use on Win 8 as it has built in Windows Defender which has been upgraded since Win 7 and does the job fine.

Good luck and Mark is good if you need other advice (helped me last week).

My internet keeps dropping out too.
Think there should be some sort of internet viagra for people who can't maintain a connection.
