Hi all, my comp is a Dell E520 desktop, cd drive has packed in what would be the most suitable replacement DVDreader/writer.

According to 2 online manuals it'll only take SATA optical drives (i.e. has no 40 pin IDE connector).

If you got for what is known as a retail unit, it should come with burning software.

I have a couple of spare DVD RW drives, if you want to take a picture of the back of your old one and I'll make sure it has the same connection points. Will sort you it for £5.
