I have just got a HTC DESIRE C and I cant seem to find a way to put my own tone on my incoming messages, anyone know how ? thanks for any help offered .

nope that dont work as there is no means of transferring from music folder to anywhere??

The tone you want, make sure its stored on your phone not mem card, then move that tone into tones folder, then set as ring tone.
Bit of a pain to do, the same as the S3, but easy once you know how.

You may find it easier if you plug phone in to pc, and move the files around.

if its for your own custom alert tones, create a folder either on your micro sd card or in the phones memory and call it "Notifications". Do the same for your ring tones, create a folder and call it "Ringtones", then place any mp3 file into. Log onto Zedge and you can download hundreds of alert mp3's, all free. Just place them in whichever folder you want. I use small clips for my notifications like sms and email alert. Once you have got your notification and ringtone folders sorted, each time you want to change your tone or sms alert, you will see them when you go to choose your new sound
