Avira

Just follow the instructions onscreen to install and untick all the "add toolbar" type addons.

Malwarebytes (anti malware) is a good as a backup to run once a week to make sure anything that has been missed is opened and checked again

I,ve also used Avast for years. Make sure you completly remove Norton from your computer or it will cause you problems.

Like eggandchips , raven & allundra I've used Avast! for years & never had any problems .

Remove every trace of Norton before installing a new anti virus .

A quick scan with Malwarebytes every week or so won't do any harm either .

Ditto, I used to use AVG but it started playing so I followed similar advice on a similar thread last year ditched AVG and installed AVAST, not looked back since.....

Check who you bank with, you may get free anti-virus protection. I'm with Barclays and have had Kaspersky free for the last 2years as a customer with a basic account. Can't complain at something for nothing :-)
