Been having problems the last few days with it but now when I switch it on it just makes a noise not a beep more of a buzz 6 times any help please

"if" there were 6 beeps instead of buzzing it would suggest
possibly RAM issues.

Try putting your start up disc in and switching it on to see if there is software conflict somewhere.

Thanks peeps so its either RAM or keyboard an av got a wireless keyboard so RAM it is. I have't got a startup disk so can't try that but thank's for the suggestion. Can anyone tell me how much am lookin at for new RAM for this computer an and what type.

Probably RAM, but try unplugging the keyboard receiver just in case you have a sticky key.

If you want to bring it into mine we can try some different RAM in it to see if sorts the problem out.

thanks for the offer Doc but i took one of the ram boards out and put it in one of the other slots and the computer switched on, i will defo keep u in mind if it happens again cos i only have 1gig of ram and wouldn't mind an upgrade soon.
