Eh? What has that topic got to do with this one?

This one is a direct link to the Microsoft document that has just been leaked....

View the confidential PDF here.

Your link says it won't include a drive? Lol, read the PDF.

Also news here...

Microsoft admits Xbox 720 document is real
The leaked 56-page roadmap revealing plans for the next generation Xbox and Kinect V2 has been proven real, as Microsoft lawyers have forced it to be removed from websites.

Microsoft has admitted that the leaked document describing plans for the next generation Xbox console does belong to the tech giant, and its lawyers have ordered websites to take down links to the 56-page PDF file.
The document is referred to as an IEB Roadmap, where IEB stands for Interactive Entertainment Business - the Microsoft division responsible for Xbox and other consumer electronics.
For some reason Microsoft is primarily picking on Czech technology site Ihned.cz, although links to the document on the far more high profile Game Informer still seem to be working (although that may only be until America wakes up later this afternoon).
The document first surfaced on download site Scribd, which naturally became the first target for Microsoft's lawyers. Of course by that time the file had already spread across the internet and even if major sites are forced to take it down we doubt more than a few seconds on Google will keep you from it.

Although it seems to be almost two years old the roadmap always looked legitimate, not least because it clearly described what was unveiled as Xbox SmartGlass at E3 earlier in the month.
The new console, referred to directly as the Xbox 720, includes a Blu-ray drive, built-in DVR features, an upgraded Kinect V2 that can detect four people at a time, and HD video capture. The hardware is described as four to six times more powerful than the existing Xbox 360 and yet with a price tag of $299 (which in reality will probably translate to £299).
Also described in detail in the roadmap are future plans for cloud gaming and a concept based around AR goggles that sounds suspiciously similar to Goggle's Project Glass. The glasses are codenamed Fortaleza but aren't expected to be launched until 2014.
The Xbox 720 itself is pegged for a 2013 release, but remember that the roadmap is almost two years old now - so plans could easily have changed since then.

Yeah i think the whole "won't include a disk drive" is people jumping the gun because games are likely to use a solid state memory media like the PS Vita, but they would be stupid in the head to not include a disk drive for other media.

Console games will never use "solid state Media" as you put it , that would be a step backwards to the old cartridge, however I can see the next console having an SSD instead of a Hard disk.

The reason a Disk Drive may be redundant on the next console, is that cloud Gaming is the future or, more like the Now. The game saves all your data to the cloud and the game itself is purchased and downloaded from the cloud, so no need for a drive.

But, I can't see the next console not having a drive, a drive will probably be present for older games on disc to be played.

Surely they will include a drive for people that have to physically buy a game because they dont have Internet access and can't download it.

It is meant to be a full media centre, and a media centre by my standards should play my DVD and bluray disks.

No chance that a disk drive would be removed for this generation.

Be interesting to see if it can match or better the 10 year lifecycle of current consoles.

If you read the PDF it is being supplied with a Blu-ray drive.
