Got a two year old, high spec hp laptop. just replaced the battery because the chip inside died. but now the problem is with fan.

Its needs a clean, sounds a bit grity (new word i just made up) What is the best way to sort this out? T could blow it through with air. In the mean while I will use a fan tray so that the laptop fan is not use

Heat can cause additional problems.
So until the fan is resolved continue to use the Laptop Tray.

I always say suck the crap from a board, because i feel you are blowing the crap else where smile

if you cant remove the casing to access the fan, see if you can get a cotton bud on the edges thats where the dirt starts to collect.

Remove battery and turn off when doing any poking about.

Good luck
