Bought a iphone 4 today which was originally on contract with vodaphone put a (payg) sim in,topped up can make calls but cannot access internet anyone know how i can resolve this problem.

u need to put the apn settings on for whatever network your using

where do i get them from

your network provider mate

n watch what your doing if on payg coz it will eat all your credit Ie: disable 3g when your not using it.

You can update the settings for your iPhone and new SIM by connecting the phone to iTunes, this will update the carrier (or SIM) settings for you.

You can also change them manually by going to Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network > APN. For a Pay As You Go SIM this should be pp.vodafone.co.uk and the username and password should be WAP and WAP.

Once you've done that you'll also need to change the APN settings on MMS (just below) again to pp.vodafone.co.uk so that you can still send and receive MMS on your phone.

ok tryed that seem to be getting somewhere now its connecting now how do you create a user name and password do i have to link up to my comp and download i tunes.
