Is there a free program which I can download which will tell what type of memory (ddr, ddr2 etc all confusing to me) is on a pc or laptop.
The last time I got memory I took it out of pc and took it to the drs shop to show what it was

SIW

If you run this, use the trial version, it will give you lots of information about your PC, including how much memory and the type.

+1. Great program.

Alternatives: SiSoft Sandra Lite (free), AIDA64 (was Everest), 30-day trial.
