hi i have a ps3 i was given it free it switches on an powers up all cables in properly but nothing is comin up screen any ideas ???

keep you finger on the power button till you hear two beeps it's that the person who had it before you had it set up for hd or sd tv and your trying other way around as in this.

if your setting up hdmi and the person before you had it on scart

or the hard drive is corrupt try a different laptop hard drive in it

sorry no didnt fix it took it to a shop they said £90 to fix as it needs a new laser thanks for your help

madrob, i'm 99% sure it doesn't need a new laser to fix no display, i've worked on consoles for years and a faulty laser wont stop a console booting up
