Has anyone got the recovery discs for
a hp pavilion entertainment dv6-1211sa
vista home
AMD ATHLON[TM] X 2 DUAL CORE QL-65
and

a hp pavilion entertainment DV7-2215SA
WINDOWS7

Can I borrow or buy copies of as I was looking at those laptops of my granddaughter and grandson and have wiped them and there is no access to recovery partition and it looks like some recovery discs had already been created
I have 2 sets of HP recovery discs off a friend but the laptops say they are not the correct ones

What exactly are you trying to do here? Recover old data? You're better off using a linux live cd (ubuntu) which costs nothing to download. ~http://www.ubuntu.com/download

If you're trying to reinstall windows and they still have the stickers on with the OEM serial torrent the OS from btjunkie.org and install windows that way. The drivers you can get from the HP support site.

This is an expensive lesson to learn, I have a HP laptop and you are supposed to burn the DVD recovery set as a priority once you have unpacked the computer! And before you get a virus.

Any CD/DVD with (the correct version of) Windows on it will let you install as you should have the OEM sticker on the bottom, so you can get the basic install done quite quickly, the drivers are all on the HP website and HP has an "auto detect" on its site so it can "read" the machine and tell you which drivers you should need, doesn't always work as well as it should but it's better than nothing.

The extra programs, if you want them, are all available on the site as downloads, whole job should take a couple of hours, mainly with the PC installing so you just have to keep an eye on it and press the correct key now and then.

If you get stuck give me a shout.

I've got OEM copies of Both OS' and can sort a driver disk for each out for you. PM me if you want to collect them.
