One programme tells me that there is a runtime error. I have googled for fix it type programmes who all say how brilliant they are and after downloading they do a scan but at the end want you to purchase.

Being a cheapskate, I want this for free. Anyone know if there are any good free programmes available for this please?

reinstall the programme that is giving you the error.
