I find avast tends to slow my laptop down, same as the other link AV(letter inbetween F and h not workin)

You notice the differnce on slower RAM laptops tbh

Yeah I use to think it was the site hosts till i got wise.
I did have a warning to go with the links we put. not to click on
Google ad sponsor. But i've lost it in the maze of saved advice. So if you have any down load advice for anyone wishing to do so. that would be sound. save them getting C*** with it lol

malwarebytes and avira does all I need tbh. I download of some torrent sites (300GB) in 12 months and no viruses been found.

Then again might be the sites I use bein virus free

I had this exact problem when I tried to install it on my XP machine several weeks ago. I consequently dumped AVG and went over to Avast. It works fine and has already clobbered several nasties.

I moved away from AVG about six months ago, seriously glad too - AVG was excellent, but the more recent releases have definitely got more bloated.

I use AVG at work, because the only choice is a freebee or nothing, as the boss won't spend a penny on IT! But we are far far away from windows 7 !!

Careful Nigel - AVG is free for "Non-commercial" use I think...
