For any Wiki peeps with a TopUp TV box, we are today releasing software upgrades for both the Thomson G1 and G2 boxes. They should be on-air shortly.

The new public release version numbers will be as follows:

Thomson G1 (6300) - v5.08
Thomson G2 (6021) - v4.08

We have been developing these builds for many months now, and are pretty-much bug free. The builds also contain many new features, and further improve stability, reliability and resiliance to missed recordings and critical failiure. We have also now resolved DSO-related bugs in the new builds. I strongly recommend your boxes are updated to the latest builds.

Ive been running v5 through different stages on the G1 for about 3 months now, and overall its proved to be a solid build (despite v5.04 killing boxes left, right and centre haha).

Not sure when the next public build for the Vestel boxes will be released, but I would imagine it will be along soon; I don't develop on the Vestels, so don't have a clue how the current public build or the BETA builds are performing, but I do know that there has been two totally different builds in development for the past few months.

Your boxes should get the update automatically at approx 10:00 tomorrow morning, but if you want to force an OAD, press "Menu" on your remote, then press "4", then press "6", then type "1,3,9,7" ad you will enter one of the engineer menu's. Navigate down to one of the final options (between 14 and 18 dependent on your build) called "Force Next OAD" and press "ok" on the remote. Then within about an hour, the box will download the new update (you will see a second green light appear on the box when it is downloading) and when it disappears, it will install the update and reboot the box. It will not install an update whilst programmes are recording.

Spoke to the team today, no new Vestel software until after the Christmas lockdown, the development of the new build has been slower on it, due to the Thomson G1 being the most prominent box, and the G2 being very similar hardware. All G1's and G2's should now be running the new software. Any problems with it, contact me.

Also, Tesco are now selling 160GB G1's for £59 over the Christmas period if anyone wants one.
